tanzaku Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how user data is handled in the Android / iOS app "tanzaku" (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. About the App
tanzaku is a browser app for reading Japanese web content (such as Aozora Bunko, Shōsetsuka ni Narō, Kakuyomu) in vertical writing layout.
2. Data Collected and Stored
2.1 Data stored on-device only
The following data is stored only in the device's local storage and is not transmitted to any external server:
- The URL of the most recently viewed web page (for session restoration on restart)
- Font size preference
- Ad-free expiration timestamp from rewarded video views
- Subscription status cache
2.2 Data transmitted via third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services, which transmit some data:
Google AdMob (ad delivery)
- Advertising ID (AAID / IDFA)
- IP address, device information (OS version, device model, etc.)
- Approximate location

RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Anonymous user ID (auto-generated by RevenueCat)
- Purchase receipts (verification info issued by Apple / Google)
- Device information, app version

Apple App Store / Google Play
- When subscribing, receipt and subscription state information defined by each store is exchanged between the store and the App.
3. Purpose of Use
- Session restoration (returning to the last viewed page)
- Saving user preferences (font size, etc.)
- Ad delivery and frequency optimization (AdMob)
- Subscription purchase processing and status management (RevenueCat, Apple, Google Play)
- Fraud prevention and quality improvement
4. Retention
- On-device data: deleted when the App is uninstalled
- Third-party service data: subject to each service's policy
5. Your Choices
- Reset / disable Advertising ID: On Android via Settings → Google → Ads; on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
- Cancel subscription: From "Settings / Subscription" → "Manage / Cancel" inside the App, or from each store's subscription management screen
- Delete on-device data: Uninstall the App
- Data inquiries: Contact the address below
6. Children's Use
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the age defined by COPPA in the US, and GDPR in the EU). If we become aware that a child under 13 has used the App, we will promptly delete the related data.
7. Links to Third-Party Sites
The App displays third-party websites via WebView. For the content and privacy practices of those sites, please refer to each site's own policy. The App is not responsible for third-party site content.
8. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised without prior notice. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
